Photo Information for Clouds In My Coffee

Description: You had me several years ago when I was still quite naive
Well you said that we made such a pretty pair
And that you would never leave
But you gave away the things you loved and one of them was me
I had some dreams, they were clouds in my coffee
Clouds in my coffee, and...

Youre so vain, you probably think this song is about you
Youre so vain, Ill bet you think this song is about you
Dont you? dont you?

Lyrics by Carly Simon.

Taken for Active Assignment Weekly: Clouds

Assignment: Clouds are quite versatile. They can serve as subjects of photos, as design elements, and as backgrounds. Clouds backlit by the sun can be especially beautiful. Your assignment is to take a photo where clouds are the primary subject.

Restriction: No montages, everything in the image is from a single shot, nothing added.

Dare: Try some sky play

What it took After a week of grey skies with heavy, dark clouds 3 feet above ground, today turned out to be clear blue skies without a cloud in sight. While considering what to do about that, my wonderful wife was humming Carly Simon's lyrics. That's the moment it clicked.

Teaspoonful cream dropped into a freshly brewed cuppa. The cream sinks the to the bottom but after a few seconds it raises again and makes these nice swirls in the coffee. Image converted to B/W with Photoshop's channel mixer.
